Sugar Level Test Machine
A glucose meter is a medical device that helps in determining the approximate concentration of glucose in the blood. A glucose meter can also come in the form of a strip of glucose paper dipped into a substance. Users can measure this strip of glucose paper to the glucose chart. It is a crucial element of HBMG or Home Blood Glucose Monitoring (HBGM) for the people suffering from hypoglycemia or diabetes mellitus.
Users or the experts take a small drop of blood by pricking the skin with a lancet. Then they place the blood drop on a disposable test strip. The meter reads that strip and uses that for calculating the glucose level in the blood. After that, the meter displays the level of glucose ain units of mg/dl or mmol/l.
Since 1980 approximately, the use of HBGM several times a day has been helping in the management of type 1diabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The advantages are the reduction in the occurrence and severity of prolonged issues from hyperglycemia. Also, it helps in reducing the short-term, life-threatening problems of hypoglycemia.
Test strips that change colour and easy to read visually without a meter have been widely in use since the1980s. These also come with additional advantages. Since you can cut them longitudinally, that will save you money. However, according to the critics, test strips that you need to read visually are not as convenient or accurate as meter testing.
The cited studies by the manufacturers show that the product is potent. However, it doesn’t answer one decimal place. However, as meter accuracy and insurance coverage got advanced, the strips lost popularity.
